So you've finally finished (or almost finished) that fiction, nonfiction, or poetry manuscript. Congratulations!
But with that accomplishment comes a nagging thought—is my book really ready for publication? If you aren't sure, then let me help. I work one-on-one with a limited number of writers and their manuscripts, giving an overall critique as well as line-by-line analysis and copyediting. Mentoring is also available, including submission assistance, advice on navigating the publishing world, and personal coaching.
I’m a bestselling novelist who’s mentored writers of all stripes for the past eight years. My first book was the provocative international bestseller, The Bitch Posse [St. Martin’s Press/USA; Orion/UK (The Bitch Goddess Notebook); Bzztoh/Netherlands (De Bitch Posse)], nominated for Nerve.com’s Henry Miller Award and currently in its paperback edition. (The hardback was published in 2005.)
My current novel, Tink, a dark take on Peter Pan, is under contract with Penguin/Putnam. I’m a former editor at both a major West Coast publisher and a well-known literary magazine, an internationally published poet (Stand, Confrontation, Poetry London), and an experienced teacher of writing. I’ve edited numerous books with The Writer's Consultant and hold a degree in Creative Writing. In addition, I’m a certificated teacher in the state of California.
